BULA, CAMARINES SUR–Pecuaria Development Cooperative Incorporation (PDCI) is a member-based organization and primary cooperative duly registered with Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). 27 years hence, PDCI now has 426 regular members and 350 associate members and a total land area of 817 hectares (ha), of which, 120 ha is devoted to organic rice production.
PDCI is one of pioneering farmer-cooperatives that is engaged in sustainable agriculture. The farmer-members of the cooperative adopted organic farming following the prescribed standards as a strategy to increase productivity and improve product competitiveness in the market. In 2007, PDCI has been certified organic by the Organic Certification Center of the Philippines (OCCP) and its farms and facilities have since been regularly inspected.
To ensure that the organic produce is free from chemicals, PDCI uses traditional method of planting and applies its self-produced Bio-organic fertilizer (BOF) and other organic inputs. PDCI also has rice mill and solar drying facilities that are exclusively used for organic rice processing that follows strict organic standards. Add to that the implementation of Internal Control System to ensure integrity of their organic product’s quality.

They offer different organic pigmented rice and seeds like the black, red and brown rice which are rich in anthocyanin, an antioxidant that is very nutritious and responsible for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, cancer and other diseases brought by oxidation process.
