Iloilo City Cluster Meeting

This to share with you the exciting output of ILOILO CITY Cluster Meeting last May 25, 2020 (Monday) at 2pm at Sabordo Clinic. Initiatives identified are the following:
1. KITCHEN GARDEN-with Barangay Ordinance, each household will plant (using recycled containers) the most consumed vegetables in their kitchen or backyard
2. COMMUNITY GARDEN (on the bigger scale at barangay and municipal level) with local ordinance…to use the vacant and idle land in the area for Organic gardening.
3. EDIBLE LANDSCAPE – to plant veges or edible plants aside from ornaments and flowers to public places like plaza, schools etc
4. COMMUNITY TALIPAPA as marketing venue (once a week schedule) localized market is possible even though with the unavailability of transportation in times of locked down/quarantine.
5. BARTER of harvest/produce- to have access on variety of food with no money being used and to promote cashless culture.
All identified approaches will address food sustainability in community level especially in time of pandemic and locked down.

The next step of this cluster is to craft for a Project proposal to be presented to the ILOILO City LGU for possible support. It was agreed by the body that the continuation of the discussion will be at the Signal group chat.

Looking forward that other ESSA Cluster groups around the country (Northern Luzon Cluster, Southern Luzon, Cebu, Samar, Negros Island, 3 cluster of Iloilo Provice, Aklan-Capiz, Mindanao cluster) together with attendees of Organic 4.0 National Conference will soon to RECONVENE after locked down, to move forward, revisit your identified initiatives last Organic 4.0 Nat Con for possible implementation.
