“KAON KA? TANUM TA!” Iloilo City Cluster Project Moved for Their Second Week of Their Eight Weeks Session

The Iloilo City cluster before proceeding for their week two sessions met with Ma’am Elisel Luna of the Iloilo City Office of Urban Gardening for collaboration and possible partnership, seeds, and other possible support for the project “KAON KA?, TANUM TA!” -Urban Gardening for Food Sustainability.  This meeting was joined by ESSA council member, Louriz Sabordo and ESSA Program Coordinator, Gemma Sumague.

The planning in preparation for the next weekly session on September 5, 2020 was then held at Sabordo’s Office.

The second week session last September 5, 2020 was about Soil Health/ Nutrition and Composting with Aeon Mapa, ESSA Iloilo City cluster member, Biodynamic practitioner, and Gamot Cogon Waldorf teacher.   This is another milestone for the group, that they have an almost complete attendance of their participants from Barangay Cochero.

The activities started with the short check-in/kamustahan through   a small group sharing and with a short introduction on how to do kitchen waste composting.   Mr. Aeon Mapa, the resource person did a demo on bucket composting if the participants choose to practice “vermi composting”.  The second weekly project implementation/session ended with the home visits with the respective ESSA Iloilo city cluster members assigned to do the mentoring.

The signing of tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between ESSA Iloilo City cluster, BLGU  of Cochero and CORE Philippines also took place.  This partnership is very much hopeful for the success of the project and the cooperation for the next batch’s implementation.
