Central Iloilo Cluster on its 5th meeting was joined by its new members from the Municipalities of Pototan represented by the Organic Agriculture Focal Person and two Organic Farmers; Passi City Organic Agriculture Focal Person; and from the Municipality of Dingle, chairperson of Productive Enterprise, ISCOF-Dingle Campus. The regular and consistent attendees are from the Municipalities of New Lucena, Zarraga, Cabatuan and Passi City Trade School.
The regular meeting was formalized by the welcome banner, registration, programme, welcoming of attendees, certificates and organic and native foods and fruits to show the School’s hospitability to the members. This hospitability truly confirms that we enjoy and share abundance from the food we grow.
The school, through its representative affirms ESSA on the need to widen, to strengthen and to enhance the campaign and promotion of Sustainable Agriculture in Iloilo. To update the new attendees, the chairperson, Mr. Ronie Bautista gave a short summary of what had happened during the previous meeting and where ESSA Central Iloilo cluster now on its strategic planning activity. To move on in the implementation of the project, the group focused on the year 2020 and identified the activities to be accomplished at the end of this year and the output of which shall be reported on its next meeting on December 11, 2020 to be hosted by the Municipality of Pototan, Iloilo.
After a productive meeting, the group made a quick tour around the school campus to observe what the School had been doing in the implementation of their Sustainable Agriculture program. The quick tour offered a venue for seed sharing, sharing of technical assistance, promoting more camaraderie among members and learning.
CISSA October 2020 activity will move on to the Municipality of Pototan for their invitation during the launching of their Organic Market. This launching is also a milestone of the cluster’s objective to increase production of organic produce through provision of marketing support.
