This past May 13th, LOAMCPh held it’s 13th general assembly. The event was held online for mayors and lgu representatives from prospective member municipalities. The programme included the history and current state of LOAMCPh, a talk on the current pandemic from Nick Perlas, stories from municipalities which have had highly successful organic agriculture programs and oath-taking of new members.
Over the course of a day, the 18 new member municipalities learned about the importance of organic agriculture for immunity and ecological health. Eight of these municipalities were sworn in on the spot as full LOAMCPh members: Cortes( Surigao Del Sur), Balatan (Cam Sur), Guinto-(Bulacan), South Upi, Sulop (Davao) Tabaco City (Albay), Matag Ob (Leyte) and San Joaquin (Iloilo). The representatives from Iloilo province came at the invitation of the ESSA secretariat who had visited them earlier.
